For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle. Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall straightway glorify him. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. When he had said these words unto them, he abode [still] in Galilee. Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? So there was a division among the people because of him. At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, whither goest thou? But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. And [some] of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes. Pilate answered, What I have written I have written. Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again, |
