For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind. And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess [him], lest they should be put out of the synagogue: Nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation perish not. The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear [them] not, because ye are not of God. But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death;
