Key Lime Digital Designs: Changing Lanes: Guest Post |
Posted: 08 Jul 2011 01:45 PM PDT I am Danielle and I blog at Changing Lanes. I am wife to J. and mother to Mosby (5), JEB (3) and Mary Mac (1). I began blogging 5 months ago as a way to document our life ~ as the children grow. I enjoy spending my every day with my.three + thrifting with my mom, their Suga. Changing Lanes THE.BLOG follows us day to day. More recently, I have opened Changing Lanes THE.SHOP, an etsy store where I sell (some) of my vintage finds. I am so honored :: that Kendra would ask me here today to speak on my blog design and share any blogging tips I might have. I have said it before and will say it again ~ I am a visual person. I like to see things perfect…even when they aren’t…I like to see them this way. I apply this to something as simple and (really) insignificant as my blog design – to the bigger picture like when my.littles are having a rough.time or something doesn’t go just as planned. I often say ~ it could always be worse. As long as we are all alive and healthy = it’s perfect, every.thing is PERFECT. I have self-learned all aspects of blog.design. Many.hours, Many.frustrations. Somehow, I think I have figured most things out. I would encourage you to look online for answers to any design changes you yourself would like to make = their there. I would also suggest you make your space – yours. No one ever pulls off being someone else, and no one can be you. It is what YOU are good at. Once, you decide on who you are ~ put every.aspect of that, into every.detail of your design. From the header – to the font – to the written style - to the photos – to the widgets. Make.it.all YOU. Offer variety. Share yourself, your family, your travel, your recipes, your thoughts, your style, yada, yada, yada ~ share it all. Once you do begin sharing | share often! The more you offer. the more to come back to. Period. When you have a design you are happy with and are on a blogging role ~ begin to communicate with other bloggers similar to you. Comment to them. Link where they link. Before you know it, you’ll have new friends + followers. Thank you Kendra for having me and following me at Changing Lanes. I hope to see some new faces that are reading this post around my space as well. Thanks. - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - Guess What?
