He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound [weight]. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
Therefore they gathered [them] together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. And when they had found him on the other side of the sea, they said unto him, Rabbi, when camest thou hither? Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast:
And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. One of the two which heard John [speak], and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother. And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.
The Jews then murmured at him, because he said, I am the bread which came down from heaven. For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead. And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do [it]. And the sea arose by reason of a great wind that blew. Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
And when he had so said, he shewed unto them [his] hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord. And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. Then they took away the stone [from the place] where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up [his] eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
(For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's [son], to betray him; Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.
And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape.
And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
[Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou [then], Shew us the Father?
Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt [his] fisher's coat [unto him], (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you.
Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him,
Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
This he said, signifying what death he should die.
Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.
But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?
And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even [the same] that I said unto you from the beginning.
And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.
Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come [again] unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
